Delores Carnwright

Tribute
Delores Carnwright was a poet. She published two books of poetry and wrote for many magazines. She was a free spirit, beloved by all who knew her.
She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Robert & Mable Dortmund. When Delores was two years old, her parents joined the many pioneering families moving to the Peace River Country. They settled near Grande Prairie, Alberta and she and her six siblings grew up on the farm there. In 1934, Delores moved to Portland, Oregon and studied to be an LPN. She worked in the hospital there for many years. In 2000, she moved to Kelowna to be near her beloved family. She will be sadly missed by a large and loving extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2009 at the Rutland Seventh Day Adventist Church, 130 Gerstmar Road, Kelowna. Burial to follow in Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at Rustico Cremation & Burial.

For as long as I can remember, visits with cousin Delores were eagerly awaited. I know that everyone who has had the pleasure of being in her company or listening to her play the violin will profoundly miss her. Especially my sister Anne who is her alter ego. I wish to extend our families deepest condolences on the passing of a beloved counsin and friend.
